Measure U Projects

Your YES vote on Measure U will continue the rehabilitation of our local Truckee schools. Below is a list of proposed projects. Click here for a list of conceptual sketches.

Truckee Elementary

• Reinforce buildings that have lower snow load capacity
• Improve traffic circulation, parking, parent and bus pick-up and drop-off
• Expand hard court area and synthetic turf playfield areas
• Implement energy conservation measures

Truckee High School

• Rebuild Career-Tech (Voc. Ed.) wing
• Replace portable classrooms with permanent rooms
• Create new media-technology center
• Provide room for future classroom expansion that will temporarily house the District offices
• Upgrade technology to create "smart" classrooms similar to those at North Tahoe High
• Implement energy conservation measures
• Reinforce buildings that have lower snow load capacity
• Build new grandstands, scorer’s booth, concession stands, restrooms and sports storage
• Improve traffic circulation, parking, parent and bus pick-up and drop-off
• Construct new athletics complex with synthetic turf fields for football and soccer, and an all-weather regulation track

Sierra Mountain (former Middle School)

• Finish conversion of Sierra Mountain site and building for future elementary use
• Improve traffic circulation, parking, parent and bus pick-up and drop-off
